Dear fam, a new series is here and I wish you can tell my excitement. Sit back, relax and enjoy this super relatable series. And oh, do not forget to share with a gist lover. Cheers!
I walked briskly and tucked my bag securely under my arm. It was almost 7:30am and I did not want to be late for work the second time in a week. A young man suddenly walked past me. I noticed how he walked up behind a lady a few meters in front of me. He instantly snatched her bag and made a run.
I was shocked but instinctively went into defence mode. I grabbed his arm and kicked him in the shin. Yeah, my brothers taught me how to fight and defend myself. He stumbled a little and ran off as I seized the bag. A couple of by standers watched but nobody stopped him.
I handed the bag back to the lady who was clearly flustered.
“Thank you. Na wa o. Dis early morning.” She opened the bag, checking to see all her belongings were intact. She looked at me suspiciously.
“Do you know him? How did you know he was going to snatch my bag?”
“No, I don’t know him.” I was confused. What was she insinuating?
She looked unsure. “ Hmm. Maybe you plan am sef.”
I was stunned. How ungrateful!
I didn’t respond and walked past her. I didn’t need her negative energy.
Besides I was already running late. A couple of minutes later, I heard someone scream. “Thief! Thief!”
Still holding my bag tightly, I turned. It was the ungrateful lady. Her bag had been snatched… again.
Wow. Lagos wasn’t joking this morning. No one bothered to stop the young man as he ran down a narrow street. She turned and saw me.
I shook my head and continued walking. Karma was always on time.
